
A key figure in Rio de Janeiro’s music scene for over 15 years, Marcello MBgroove is a DJ, music producer, curator, researcher, and Music Analyst at Sesc RJ. With performances at major venues and festivals across Brazil, he was awarded a Natura Musical grant with his collective and had his mixtape featured in the renowned Oi Música Eletrônica project. A reference in Brazil’s vinyl culture, he has taken part in documentaries, TV programs, and major events dedicated to DJing and the preservation of vinyl music. MBgroove is also one of the organizers of the Rio de Janeiro Vinyl Record Fair, one of the most important in the country, with international recognition. In his sets, MBgroove takes the audience on a sonic journey that blends Brazilian rhythms with global Black music — including soul, jazz, afrobeat, rap, and electronic grooves — creating a danceable, plural, and sophisticated experience that bridges past, present, and future.
