Singer, songwriter, and dancer, Jéssica Gaspar moves effortlessly between Afro-Brazilian rhythms and the vibrant world of Afrohouse, guided by the power of her rich, velvety voice. Her music blends delicacy and intensity, ancestrality and modernity — a combination that, together with her poetic and hypnotic performances, has made her one of the great emerging talents of her generation. She began her artistic journey at CUFA (Central Única das Favelas), where she built a solid foundation and trained as a dancer, specialising in Krump, an urban dance style known for its intense and expressive movements. Jéssica debuted in music in 2022 with the singles “Capim Dourado” and “Vão Ter que Pagar”. In the following year, she released her first EP, “Amor”, and in 2024, presented “Brisa”, a collaboration with Maz and Antdot — icons of Afrohouse — a track that surpassed millions of streams. Her song “Deus é uma Mulher Preta” (“God is a Black Woman”) became the theme of Bloco Ókánbí at the Bahia Carnival. It was translated into English and Italian and has been referenced in academic research. She was also featured in the first Brazilian edition of the COLORS programme, creating exclusive content for one of the world’s largest music channels on YouTube.
