Partnership between MIMO Festival and Jazz in Marciac – Brazil-France Season 2025
Multi-award-winning improviser and composer, Hamilton de Holanda is renowned for playing the 10-string mandolin—an instrument he has reinvented. His mastery is undeniable: the virtuoso mandolinist has built a solid international career and captivates audiences wherever he goes with breathtaking improvisations, reinterpretations, and original compositions. He frequently performs at prestigious festivals, theaters, and concert halls around the world, sharing the stage with leading musicians and showcasing Brazil’s rich musical heritage on the global stage. For this concert at Jazz in Marciac, Hamilton performs in a trio format alongside two outstanding musicians: Salomão Soares, who brings sophistication and a contemporary touch through complex harmonies and improvisations, using keyboards and the Moog synthesizer to add unique textures; and Thiago "Big" Rabello, whose pop sensibility and rhythmic precision provide infectious energy and versatility on drums, completing the trio with brilliance.
Hamilton de Holanda will also lead the masterclass “Improvisation: Eight Creative Habits” on August 5, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at ILÔT MUSIQUE (Collège Aretha Franklin) in Marciac.
