In this masterclass, conductor Gustavo Beytelmann takes the audience on a musical and reflective journey through the world of tango, drawing from his extensive experience as a pianist, composer, and improviser. The session offers an active and contextualized listening experience, where the traditional elements of tango engage in dialogue with contemporary approaches to composition and improvisation, revealing the genre’s expressive and innovative potential. The masterclass will be presented in a lecture-concert format, alternating between explanations and live piano performances. Throughout the session, Beytelmann will demonstrate in real time the stylistic, rhythmic, and harmonic resources that define tango — both in its classical forms and modern evolutions.
