Music researcher on various eras, he always keeps an eye on new trends and unusual styles. In his sets, DJ Montano allows for a dialogue between Brazilian music and music from other parts of the world.
He has been a resident to MIMO Festival since 2015. He has been working as a DJ and VJ for 10 years now. His performances are filled with repertoires that combine different music styles to show countless rhythm mix possibilities between maracatu (refers to any of several performance genres found in Pernambuco, Northeast Brazil), samba (Brazilian music genre and dance style), jazz, funk, and tropicália (Brazilian artistic movement that arose in the late 1960s). Introducing melodies unknown to mainstream audience, Montano creates unforgettable moments in his concerts by playing both dancing-fever and nostalgic sets. The nostalgic ones, despite evoking the past, are highly current.
Other than working as a DJ, Montano is also a VJ. He has been working in the videography sector in projects involving other musicians, and other artistic areas, such as dancing, cinema, photography, and theater. Therefore, he can put together a complete spectacle with countless digital and analogical techniques, such as stop-motion, video remix, and montage.
