HAMILTON DE HOLANDA Brazil

Hamilton de Holanda started playing mandolin at age 5 and has become a highlight in the Brazilian musical scene in 1995 when he was regarded as the best artist in the 2nd Rio de Janeiro Choro Festival. His ability with the instrument is undeniable. A distinguished and awarded mandolinist with a consistent international career, wherever he goes, he captivates the audience with jams, re-recordings, and compositions that shape breathtaking repertoires.

In 2016, he won the award for the Best Instrumental Album in the Latin Edition of Grammy. His great passion for Brazilian music and his pursuit for abandon in melodies have led him to establish various fabulous partnerships with artists, such as João Bosco, Pablo Lapidusas, and Stefano Bollani. Those artists have also performed with other artists in other editions of the MIMO Festival both in Brazil and Portugal.

This year, Hamilton is back to MIMO Festival agenda. He is performing at Sala Baden Powell (Baden Powell Theater) in Rio de Janeiro.
