To the tune of Channel One, one of the UK’s most well-known and beloved reggae sound systems, MIMO Festival debuts at its first stage dedicated to powerful sound systems. Mikey Dread – Channel One – and his brother Jah T began playing at Notting Hill Carnival in 1983, and never stopped. The reason is known as soon as he and MC Ras Kayleb, who is replacing Jah T in the sound system performances, place the needle on the first vinyl. It’s impossible to stay still. Channel One makes us fly. These are old and new sounds. Spatial. Atonal. Sharp. Heavy and melodious. And always with inspiring messages. They won the Redbull Culture Clash in 2010, and embarked on tours with Twinkle Brothers, Congo Natty, and Mad Professor, among others.
