Don Letts is a legend of English reggae music. Born in London, and son of Jamaicans, he met producer Andy Czezowski, who took him to DJ at his newly opened Roxy nightclub, one of the earliest sites in the London punk scene. As there were not many punk records recorded yet, Letts went on to use dub and reggae in his sets. So he ended up influencing bands like The Clash. In 1984, after Mick Jones was fired from the band, he founded the group Big Audio Dynamite with him. In 1990, he formed the Screaming Target. In 2009, Letts hosted a weekly show on BBC Radio 6 Music. The English Rebel Dread shows on the main stage of MIMO Porto his DJ SET dedicated to the explosive musical combination he created by mixing punk rock and reggae.
