THE MUSICAL TRADITION OF GRIOTS IN WEST AFRICA

Griots are revered storytellers and story keepers, as well as skilled musicians, who play various stringed instruments, including the kora (21-stringed harp-lute) and the ngoni (4-6-stringed plucked lute). The artist is considered one of the greatest representatives of the latter.
